LEAVING THE AIRPORT

Sonel was pretty serious looking when we started to leave. Here he was, in the presence of nothing but strangers. Then my 26 year old son started making funny noises and Sonel smiled so big and melted our hearts. The ride home was filled with laughter. Sonel would repeat everything you said. Then, he thought he was pretty dog gone funny. We were totally entertained all the way home. He looks small, but he is sooooo heavy. I know enough Creole to actually communicate with him...shocker! He actually answers me when I ask him a question! He is a sweet doll baby. He is totally freaked out by our dog. We have a black Scottish Terrier. This is going to be such a wonderful adventure for my family. I will be putting a video on the blog tomorrow of Sonel riding the Plasma Car. Lori told me that he usually goes to bed at 8:00pm, but he finally fell asleep here, at 11:45, after a little whining. I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds!

Sonel's Journey

Sonel is from Haiti. He is 4 years old and has 2 club feet and an enlarged heart. He will be coming to the US this Tuesday (April 29) and staying with me and my family. A wonderful surgeon has agreed to donate his talents to get Sonel walking. I want to record Sonel's journey for people to read and hopefully be blessed by this little guy. I'm a photographer, so there will not be a shortage of pictures to share, I promise! The pictures here were sent from Haiti.
